Questions

Everything a facility manager asks before signing

If the answer you need is not here, call dispatch and ask. We would rather answer it before the contract than argue about it after.

Do you cover the entire United States?

Yes. Kelvin Mechanical coordinates a network of licensed local mechanical contractors. Dispatch, scope, reporting and billing are handled centrally, and the physical work is performed by a contractor licensed in that state.

What does the diagnostic visit cost?

A flat rate quoted to you before a technician is dispatched. It covers travel and the diagnosis, and it is credited toward the repair when you approve the work. There is no separate trip charge on top of it.

How do you keep costs lower than a traditional contractor?

Three policies. Parts are billed at supplier cost with the invoice attached instead of marked up. Contract sites pay no after hours premium and no trip charge. Diagnostics are a flat rate rather than an open hourly clock.

How fast can someone be on site?

The arrival window is confirmed on the call, before dispatch, based on your location and the current crew position. We quote a window we can hold rather than a number that sounds good on a website.

Do I need a maintenance contract to call you?

No. One off repair calls are welcome. Contract sites get priority scheduling, no trip charge and no after hours premium, which is why most multi building clients move onto an agreement after the first year.

Who is licensed and insured, you or the local contractor?

The contractor performing the work holds the mechanical license required in that state, and carries general liability and workers compensation coverage. Certificates are provided per site before the first visit.

Can you work with our existing building automation system?

Yes. Technicians work with the controls already installed and report through your system where you give access. We do not require a controls replacement to service the equipment.

How is a quote approved?

In writing. The technician sends findings and a price, you approve it, and only then does the repair start. Nothing beyond the agreed diagnostic is billed without your written approval.

Ask us the one that is missing

Put it in the notes field. A person reads it and answers it directly rather than sending a brochure.
